When Alain Burguet officiallly retired in 2011, the winery was turned over to the able hands of his 3 sons, Bachelet-trained Jean-Luc and Gouges-mentored Eric and Alain. They farm biodynamically and their de-stemmed fruit is fermented with indigenous yeasts. The wines are bottled without filtration or fining. The vines for Mes Favorites are 75-100 years old.
A very silky texture conveys rich, dark fruits and subtle hints of earth and spice in this gorgeous 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin. As the name suggests, this wine is a blend of vigneron Alain Burguet’s very favorite plots of Pinot Noir. Produced from vines between 80 and 100 years of age, this cuvée Gevrey-Chambertin shows evident concentration, complexity and intensity. Made from organically grown grapes in a non-interventionist method, the wine is incredibly balanced and exudes a cool elegance and purity on both the nose and the palate
