Every year, we look forward to these releases. Created from whiskey that went from ex-bourbon to quarter casks and then to ex-sherry casks, the 2019 offering is hitting all the major wood sources employed by Laphroaig. It’s a whisky that gets the best of everything this distillery has to offer and then it’s blended together and, in this case, it’s delivered at natural cask strength.
The Aroma is full of sweet, briny and buttery notes with hints of smoke.
The palate is similar, although with a more nuanced and complex sweetness
The finish carries a heavy layer of smoke paired up with the sweet notes.
We would encourage adding a bit of water to the 2019 Laphroaig Cairdeas Triple Wood Cask Strength to bring out the most out of this experience.
